Research was conducted to determine the perceptions of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (UACES) agricultural personnel toward sustainable and organic agriculture and to determine their self-assessed current level of knowledge and need on select topics related to sustainable and organic agriculture.  Data indicated that respondents had an overall positive perception toward sustainable and organic agriculture across all assessed areas, including shared visions, agricultural community development, production systems thinking and knowledge. Additionally, the survey revealed that respondents reported they had inadequate resources to aid in advising clientele on organic agriculture, and a reduced knowledge of organic rules and regulations. This study suggests providing UACES personnel with additional training related to the rules, regulations, and resources for organic agriculture. ^ This project developed an organic resource manual for use by the UACES and growers.
